Anonymous asked: What would you want to be called if you weren't named Kelsey?

when i was in second grade i was convinced that the name kelsey sucked. i decided that my new name would be katie, and tried (unsuccessfully) to lobby for that change everywhere i went.

i think i was inspired by my brother, jack, whose name is actually john. on his first day of fourth grade he told his teacher that “john” must have been a misprint. then my mom went in for a conference and when the teacher started discussing “jack,” my mom told her she was talking about the wrong kid, as hers was named john.

also, in the interest of combining anonymous questions and not double-posting in your feeds, my favorite book is slaughterhouse five. runners-up include brave new world, lord of the flies, and fat kid rules the world.

plus harry potter and his dark materials, obvi, because DUH.
